T-shirt Painting Children's Craft

Children love to paint and colour, and a great craft idea for birthday parties, church and scout groups or kid's clubs that I got from my pal SagArt are these cool tees that kids can colour with fabric paints or markers.

It's a simple craft that kids (and adults) will enjoy doing and they can wear their t-shirt over and over again. You can choose to fix the colours at the event, or send a note home with the children telling parents how to set the colours on the t-shirts.

The following instructions come from SagArt's Birthday Zone Where you can purchase some really cute pre-printed t-shirts for kids, as well as bibs and baby clothing. The baby clothing would be a cute idea to paint at a baby shower!

Fabric Paint
25ml jars of fabulous colours. Paint on with a paintbrush. Easy. This dries in approximately 1 hour depending upon thickness applied. Leave for 24 hours. Fixing with an iron is necessary to make the paint permanent. Turn t-shirt inside out, cover with clean cloth and iron on hot without steam for a few minutes. Leave for 48 hours before washing.

Fabric Marker Pens
Fluorescent and Bright fine tip coloured pens or Bright jumbo pens. Just write or colour like a felt tip pen. Easy. These dry immediately. Fixing with an iron is necessary to make the paint permanent. Cover t-shirt with clean cloth and iron on hot without steam for a few minutes.

3D Fabric Paint
25ml squeezy bottles. Place nozzle on fabric and glide. Creates a fun 3D look. Dries in approx 1 hour depending upon thickness applied. This does not need fixing.

Have fun painting these cute t-shirts and do post a picture of your finished product in the guest book. Sagart and I would love to see them!
